Which air conditioning (A/C) component absorbs heat at a low temperature and pressure and rejects heat at a higher temperature and pressure?

Evaporator

Compressor

Refrigerant

The working fluid in an air conditioner, the refrigerant, is the medium that carries heat from inside to outside. At the evaporator, the refrigerant is at a low temperature and low pressure and it absorbs heat from the indoor air, boiling into a low‑pressure vapor. This heat absorption cools the room. The refrigerant then is compressed, raising its pressure and temperature, and moves to the condenser, where it is hotter than the outdoor air and rejects heat to the outdoors as it condenses back to a liquid. Because the refrigerant performs heat absorption at low temperature/pressure and heat rejection at higher temperature/pressure, it is the component that enables the overall heat transfer in the system.
